There is only ONE FATHER, the living God,
Master and Creator of all things.
There is only ONE SON, who rose from the dead,
Master of our salvation and door to eternal life.
And there is only ONE HOLY SPIRIT,
that gives spiritual gifts,
and abides in the hearts of men.
There is JUST ONE…
And yet there are Three
God the Father - God the Son - God the Holy Spirit
We firmly believe the Bible is the inspired written Word of God, and live life based on the teachings of both the old and new testaments. The Word it contains is not to be twisted by man with interpretations that try to make wrongs appear right. The Bible clearly speaks for itself that which is truth, and is irrefutable.
God’s commandments are not to be taken lightly
He gives each of us the opportunity to turn from our sins, and to be forgiven through the Gospel (1 Cor 15:3-4) “For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures”, so that we may live with Him for all eternity and experience victory in this life.
God is Love and He wants the best for us
We believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate: Fully God and fully man, that He was conceived and born of a virgin (Matt 1:18-25). He lived a sinless life, and offered Himself as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of mankind. By his own blood He shed on the cross, He bought us eternal redemption and eternal life (Col 1:15-20). He died, was physically raised back to life on the third day and ascended to the right hand of the Father, and is also interceding for us (Rom 8:34).
We believe in water baptism: (Acts 2:35-39) “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit: Jesus offers us the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and Jesus is the Baptizer with the Holy Spirit (Matt 3:11). We believe that power will come upon you when you receive the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8). We believe that the gifts of the Spirit operate today, manifesting as He wills (1 Cor 12:4-11).
We believe in healing and deliverance: Jesus still heals and delivers people from demonic powers today. (Hebrews 13:8) “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Acts 10:38, James 5:14-15, 1 John 3:8b)
We believe in receiving communion: (some people refer to it as “the Lord’s supper”) The bread and juice represents Jesus’ body and blood that were sacrificed to make us right with God. Just as the disciples shared this Passover meal with Jesus, we share it together on the first Sunday of each month. (1 Cor 5:7, 1 Cor 11:23-26) Everyone who is “in Him” (born again) is invited to join in communion at Heart of the Hills Christian Church.
Our commitment to you:
As your leaders, we aspire to foster a trustworthy leadership team that submits to the authority of the Word of God (1 Tim 3:1-13, Titus 1:6-9, 1 Peter 5:1-7). We commit to prepare you “for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ” (Eph 4:12-13). We aspire to set an example in speech, life, love, faith and purity (1 Tim 4:12) and accurately teach the Word of Truth (2 Tim 2:15). We are willing shepherds of “God’s flock” (1 Peter 5:2) helping to create a church family full of faith, hope, love and joy!
